Is There a Time Lag in Manifestation? The Truth About Timing

Hello, I’m Iruru.

On this blog,

one question I hear constantly is about the “time lag” that supposedly happens when you’re trying to manifest your desires through your subconscious mind.

People say there’s usually a “time lag” before your desires show up in reality. How long does manifestation typically take? Can you speed up this “time lag”? What are the best methods for doing that?

What’s your take on time lag?

What exactly is this ‘time lag’ until manifestation happens?

Time lag is an English term that simply means “time delay” or “time difference.”

In subconscious mind work, “time lag” refers to the gap between deciding what you want and actually seeing it happen in your life.

Here’s the thing though: the law of the subconscious is beautifully simple—”you become what you think.” The moment you truly decide something, you’re already living as the version of yourself who has it. You’ve already arrived. So technically, there shouldn’t be any time lag at all. But why does it feel like there is?

When I first discovered the subconscious, I totally bought into this “time lag” idea. Now? I don’t believe in it at all. The only real difference between then and now is what I choose to believe.

I’ve made my decision, but there still seems to be a time lag?

Before I learned about “manifesting through your subconscious mind,” I was very much a “do it yourself” kind of person. The idea that just thinking about something could make it happen? I wasn’t buying it.

But one day, I discovered the subconscious mind and decided to test it out.

Back then, I thought of it like planting seeds. You know how when you plant a radish seed, it takes a few days to sprout?

I believed, “Once I make my decision, it’ll gradually come true over several days.” I’d also come across this “technical term” in the subconscious world called “time lag,” so I thought,

“There’ll be a few months’ delay before things manifest.” And there I was, staring at my current reality, wondering when it would happen and thinking, “It’s not here yet.”

Do you see what was happening?

If you step back and look at this objectively, can you see that my world was unfolding exactly according to my belief that there would be a several-month time lag?

Coming from my “do it yourself” background, the idea that just making a decision could create results felt too easy to believe. Having a “time lag” made it feel more realistic to me.

I’d think, “It’ll manifest after the time lag!” Sure, I was deciding and expecting it to come true, but if I believed there was a months-long delay, I’d end up stuck in this state of “It hasn’t happened yet, but someday when the time lag ends, it will.”

Your thoughts come first. The moment you think it, it’s already real for you

The subconscious operates on one simple principle: “you become what you think.” When you decide your thoughts right now, you can instantly step into the reality where your desire is already fulfilled.

For example,

If you want to reunite with your ex and have a loving relationship, just decide that’s what’s happening.

Right now, become the version of yourself who’s already in that loving relationship with your ex.

I know some of you are thinking, “But in reality, my ex isn’t even talking to me!” If you’ve spent years believing you have to work hard and take tons of action to get results—like I used to—it’s tough to believe things can shift so easily without any practical steps.

But here’s the beautiful truth: regardless of your circumstances, you have complete freedom to choose your thoughts. No one can stop you from deciding what to think.

And the instant you make that decision, it’s already fulfilled in your inner world.

You might be wondering, “So I’m just supposed to be satisfied with fantasies in my head?” or “Just thinking it won’t make it real if it hasn’t actually happened!”

But that feeling of “it’s not real yet” only exists because you believe it’s not real. You’re either manifesting “not having it” or staying stuck in the ego that insists it can’t be true. Whether we’re talking about now, the past, or the future, it’s 100% about “you become what you think.”

So stop dismissing this as just daydreaming that leads nowhere. It all comes down to whether you decide to take charge of your thoughts or not. That’s literally all there is to it.

Once you’ve decided, you’ll find yourself in a reality where it has to be that way

Back when I couldn’t fully trust the subconscious, I understood it differently. I thought, “Once you decide your thoughts, circumstances naturally align to make it ‘that way’—there’s no other option.”

If this way of thinking resonates better with you, feel free to embrace this perspective.

Either way, it all starts with your “thoughts.” After that, instead of constantly checking what’s happening or what reality looks like, just continue being the version of yourself whose desire is already fulfilled.

Let the external world handle the details and focus on enjoying your “now.”

For me, just doing this cleared up so much mental confusion and anxiety, allowing me to really focus on the present moment. I was shocked to realize how much I’d been neglecting my “now.”

As I started enjoying my “now” like this, I realized that the “fulfilled version of myself” would also be enjoying it. I was already being “the me who has it all.”

Around the time I started truly enjoying my “now,” I began to feel that “deciding my thoughts equals fulfillment” could actually work.

If you’re not feeling totally convinced right now, or if the time lag concept makes more sense to you, that’s perfectly okay. But if you feel like waiting months for something that could be fulfilled instantly is just wasting time, then I hope you’ll consider choosing the “no time lag” perspective.
