One-Sided Love for a Man with a Girlfriend Came True! “The Person Who Was Supposed to Be His Girlfriend Wasn’t” — A Parallel Universe Experience with the Subconscious Mind【058】
“The person I love got a girlfriend. I guess I just have to give up, right?”
If you’re feeling this way, I want to share a manifestation success story with you. This is the experience of K (in her 30s), who texted with her crush almost every day for 10 months before he told her he had a girlfriend — and then confessed to her about 2 years later. What’s even more remarkable is what was revealed during the process of manifestation: “The person who was supposed to be his girlfriend was never actually his girlfriend from the start.” It was like a real-life experience of moving into a parallel universe.
K’s Situation: Reconnection → 10 Months of Contact → “I Got a Girlfriend”
In December 2020, K reconnected with a high school classmate at a remote alumni reunion. Although they’d never spoken in high school, she fell in love at first sight with his gentle smile and asked for his contact information herself.
From there, they exchanged messages almost every day, and while they were in a mini long-distance relationship, they managed to meet about once every two months on weekends.
But 10 months later, in October 2021, he called her directly and told her he had gotten a girlfriend. K couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep, and work became impossible — she hit rock bottom.
The Ego Running Wild After “Getting a Girlfriend”
By “ego,” I mean what ほめ♡レン describes as “semi-automatic reactions to events” — the kind of thinking where you look at reality and pessimistically assume things like “No messages → It’s impossible now” or “He got a girlfriend → It’s over.” This is the ego taking over.
K’s ego was certainly running wild. “It’s impossible, they’re going to get married, it’s all over — looking back now, I was completely taken over by my ego,” she reflects. She kept checking her boyfriend’s girlfriend’s social media, and even when the account was private, whenever posts changed, she felt that heavy, uncomfortable feeling.
The “Small Confidence” That Never Faded
Even while her ego was making a scene, K held onto something she couldn’t let go of.
“Even in such a hopeless situation, for some reason I still had this small confidence that things would work out with him. I just kept believing in that.”
K had no formal knowledge of the subconscious mind, but she says she’d had a sense since childhood that “what you believe strongly becomes reality.”
Holding onto that feeling, K shifted her focus from “me staying close to him” to “happy me is happy no matter what I choose.” She temporarily took her focus off him and turned her attention toward her own happiness instead.
The “She Wasn’t Actually His Girlfriend” Incident
Around January 2022, a male friend N from high school — whom K hadn’t seen since graduation — suddenly invited her to lunch. Somehow N knew about her crush even though she’d never told anyone, and he said to her, “You like him, right? He doesn’t have a girlfriend, so go for it.”
Unable to believe it, that night K casually checked social media — and the lock was off the account that was supposed to be private. The posts had no pictures of him together with his girlfriend, just photos of someone who resembled him but was clearly a different person.
The girlfriend had a different boyfriend.
“The person who was supposed to be his girlfriend wasn’t actually his girlfriend” — K’s heart became instantly lighter.
The Golden Week Barbecue and the Confession
After her heart lightened, K focused on filling her own life — getting certifications and enjoying her hobbies.
During Golden Week 2022, when N invited her to a barbecue — there he was. He was also attending. They had a wonderful time reuniting after so long.
A few days later, he reached out to her. “I’m not good at romance, but I realized I could be my uncool self with you too. Will you be my girlfriend?” he said, confessing suddenly.
“I was a bit surprised, but I thought to myself, ‘Oh, my training is finished,’ and I laughed,” K recalls. In May 2023, they officially became a couple.
What K’s Experience Teaches Us
K says this: “Even though I was drowning in ego and negativity all the time, I was able to manifest it. Everything that happy me chose became happiness.”
No matter how strong the ego, no matter how negative you are, no matter how hopeless reality seems — if you don’t let go of your desire, reality will eventually reflect it back to you. K’s experience teaches us this.
