【084】No Contact for 2.5 Years, Then Married My Unrequited Love Boss
“2 and a half years have passed without even exchanging contact information. Maybe it’s impossible now.”
If you’re feeling this way, I have a truly special success story to share with you today.
A woman named S fell in love with her boss at work, but they were separated during the pandemic when she was laid off due to company restructuring. After 2.5 years with zero contact information, they reunited in the most unexpected place—sitting next to each other on a flight to the Netherlands—and eventually got married.

S’s Situation — Zero Contact, Zero Means of Reconnection
In July 2020, S (in her 30s) began a one-sided love for her boss, who was 5 years her senior, at her new workplace. While they had a good relationship at work, they never exchanged personal contact information.
Then, due to deteriorating business conditions from the pandemic, S was laid off. She was suddenly told goodbye without ever having his contact information.
S recalls:
“When I learned I could no longer work at the company, the first thing that came to mind wasn’t about my future livelihood—it was the reality that I would never see my boss again.”
At this point, she had zero contact information. Zero means of reconnection. They parted suddenly, neither knowing where the other was.
How Does the Subconscious Mind View “No Contact”?
At ほめ♡レン, we don’t view “being unable to contact someone” negatively.
No contact = a state where you’ve completely surrendered to the power of your subconscious mind. And that’s the strongest position.
In the subconscious world, “deciding on your intention” is the core of manifesting love (※Subconscious mind: the unconscious part of yourself that creates reality even without your conscious awareness). Because S had no contact information and zero means to take action in the physical world, you could say she was able to focus entirely on “deciding her intention.”
Throughout those 2.5 years, S held onto this thought:
“Until the last day of his life, I want to be the one closest to him, seeing his smile more than anyone else.”
Not “I want to date him,” but “I want to live with him until our final day”—she held onto such a grand intention for 2.5 years, all without contact information.
The Ego (The True Identity of “Impossible” Reasons) and How S Faced It
During those 2.5 years, S also experienced anxiety and doubt. At ほめ♡レン, we call these automatic reactions of “it might not come true” the ego (Ego: a thought pattern that semi-automatically reacts with “it’s impossible” based on past experiences and common sense).
S’s way of facing her ego was unique.
“When I couldn’t feel complete happiness dreaming of a future with him, I would tell myself: ‘My ego is protecting fearful me, thank you. But I want to see him again, so I want to believe. Thank you, I’ll be okay’—and have that dialogue with myself.”
Rather than denying the ego, she received it as “thank you for protecting me,” and still returned to her intention. This is how S spent her 2.5 years.
The Netherlands Flight, Seat Next to His
In September 2023, S boarded a flight to the Netherlands for a trip. When the person sitting next to her returned from the restroom—it was him.
2.5 years later. No contact information. The coincidence of being on the same flight, and even sitting next to each other.
He told her he’d been worried about her all along. He still had the birthday gift she’d given him. They had dinner in the Netherlands and promised to meet again after returning to Japan. In December, he confessed his feelings, and they started dating.
In September 2024, he proposed suddenly. And their marriage was decided.
Summary: For Those Who’ve Decided Their Intention, “Contact” or “No Contact” Doesn’t Matter
S’s report teaches us that “no contact information = it won’t come true” is just a belief.
In the subconscious world, the moment you decide your intention, you’ve already become a resident of that reality. Regardless of what’s happening in the physical world, regardless of whether there’s contact or not.
The intention S held for 2.5 years—”I want to see his smile until our final day”—moved reality in the form of the seat next to him on a flight to the Netherlands.
